Personal Projects

Various projects I've worked on, not limited to, but including Unraid, TrueNAS, Proxmox, Linux, Windows Server, Docker, Portainer, scripting, automation, systems administration, networking, and more. These projects showcase my hands-on experience with diverse technologies and my commitment to continuous learning and improvement in the IT field.

Media Server

My media server is configured with a RAID 6 storage array, providing approximately 120TB of capacity for media storage. It is optimized to support simultaneous streaming to multiple users. For efficient media transcoding, I utilize NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards, ensuring high-performance processing. Jellyfin is used as the application for user authentication and management, providing secure and seamless access to the media library.

Fedora Web Server

My Fedora web server manages all web traffic across my domains, including tasks such as resetting credentials through Jellyfin, accessing cloud storage, and other related services. This Linux-based server serves as the central hub for securely handling and routing all web-based interactions within my network.

Remote Gaming Rack mounted Machine

My Windows 10 server functions as my dedicated "gaming machine," which I access remotely using a low-latency remote desktop client. This system is virtualized through Proxmox, with my PCIe graphics card passed through to the virtual machine, allowing full utilization of the hardware in Windows. This setup enables me to access and play games from any location with a fast internet connection, ensuring a seamless experience regardless of where I am.

TrueNas Backup Server

My TrueNAS backup server is configured with 40TB of storage in a RAID 6 array, dedicated to securely storing critical data such as documents, tax records, and personal information. This system is hardened with no direct connections to the public internet, ensuring maximum security. Access is strictly controlled and can only be performed via WireGuard VPN when not on the same VLAN, further safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of the stored data.

Reverse Proxy Web Services

I manage SSL certificates for three domains and utilize Nginx to configure reverse proxies for each domain. Additionally, I leverage Cloudflare to handle specific subdomains for different applications, ensuring secure and optimized traffic routing for each service.

VPN Security

All of my servers are secured behind a WireGuard VPN, which is tunneled to my data center VPS. From there, a reverse proxy is configured for each application that I wish to expose to the internet. This architecture ensures a robust layer of security for my personal network while maintaining seamless remote access to essential services.

Docker

I manage a robust environment with 30 to 40 Docker containers, each serving a specific function. These include services like Redis, MySQL, cloud storage solutions, Jellyfin for media streaming, Nginx as a reverse proxy, and various other backend applications. All of my applications are containerized, ensuring streamlined deployment, scalability, and isolation. Docker has become the backbone of my infrastructure, providing flexibility and consistency across my entire stack.

Portainer

I utilize three separate Portainer instances across my VPS, web server, and media server. This setup simplifies the management of volumes, provides visibility into the health of each container, and streamlines overall container management across my infrastructure.
